Hello everyone
The Zumba tickets are now on sale! They are five pounds each and can be purchased here on the blog through Paypal, they will cost £5.50 to cover the cost of posting, or alternatively you can get them from the Bradford Bulls ticket office where it is cash only.
So get your tickets and be proud to be part of a World Record here in Bradford! - WoC's target is a minimum of 7000 participants, won't it be swell to be able to say your a World Record holder. So let all your family and friends know about it, encourage all the men in your lives to come all along and do the Zumba class with you, as I say men get breast cancer too.
One in three of us will have some form of cancer in our lifetime, know someone who get diagnosed or know someone who has had it, so help us raise awareness and money to eradicate cancer for future generations.
So the event is Saturday August 17th at the Bradford Bulls Provident Stadium. The gates will open at 12 noon and the Zumba will start at 2pm. If you cannot do the Zumba, please come along to watch and support your loved ones.
Let's dance ourselves and Bradford into the record books!
There are still places available for the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge that is been hosted by Lost Earth Adventures on War on Cancer's behalf, look in the challenges tab for details on how to secure your place.
I went for the camera down into my stomach this week ( really hate it ), had a couple of biopsies taken and will get results in a couple of weeks, will keep you informed on that one. I still think the upper abdominal issues are most likely due to the long term use of the antibiotics. Time will tell I guess.
So very busy with all the events that are taking place this year, lots of organising going on behind the scenes. We have our first event of the year this coming Saturday, our first car wash. It's at our usual haunt, The Sun Inn at Cottingley. We will be there from 11.00am - 16.00pm weather permitting to clean your cars for £3.00...sp pop over to see us, you can even go grab a bite to eat while we clean your car - talk about multi-tasking!!
I went to see Pink in concert Sunday gone - oh it was sublime! I've waited almost 4 years to see her in concert and she was well worth the wait. When she toured here last time I was having my chemo and couldn't go in crowded places....I was gutted, but now that memory has faded to nothing!!
I will be changing the Zumba poster to incorporate how to buy a ticket, after that can anyone print or take a poster to the local gym/coffee morning group/mother toddler group/supermarket/Zumba class....you get the idea. This doesn't have to be just local....we are going for a big World Record and need to get the posters out there for people to see and put in their diaries....all help will be welcomed, contact me!
I will take a photo of the ticket and updated poster and do another blog in a day or two.
Until next time

Happy, Happy, Happy news !!!
Hello everyone
Well I am a happy, happy, happy lass tonight! I know I bring up exercise and the importance of it all the time, how it can is proven to prevent certain cancers amongst other illnesses. And how exercise helps fight Osteoporosis by keeping your body from getting rid of calcium, exercise has been known to stop Osteoporosis and even reverse the damage.
Well.................................
I am very happy to report that I did not just preach to you all, but practiced what I preached.... I had a DEXA scan ( Bone Density scan ) about 3 weeks ago, this was my two year follow up scan after being diagnosed with full blown Osteoporosis after been put into a premature menopause with the chemotherapy. So I went to see my GP for my results today and can very happily report back that not only has it not got any worse, but it has in fact improved slightly!! My GP says the results show I have gained a little bone density back in my spine! this is the best news-- so all my determination to get out exercising has paid off, my back is now in better shape than two years ago and I plan to get back out there exercising now my bladder issue seems to have been resolved through my last surgery in January.
I cannot tell you how happy I am to have that improvement and not only can I now step up my training programme, but hopefully I will be able to get out cycling again. I know I will have to build that up ( cycling does hurt my back ) but I'm determined to get back even more bone density by the time I have my next DEXA scan in a couple of years....who knows, maybe I can fully reverse it so I no longer have Osteoporosis at all. Never say never!!
So the proof is in the pudding as they say, so follow my example, get out there, exercise, eat healthy with plenty of vegetables and fruit and give the only body you'll ever have a real fighting chance of giving you long illness free life, because if you do have already or end up with an illness following the lifestyle above will give you and your body a fighting chance at improving your quality of life.
So I will try my hardest as always with the physical challenges I have on this year, I look forward to seeing those of you who have signed up for the challenges this year, I urge those of you who haven't to consider sighing up and if not hope you can sponsor or donate to the wonderful cause we are all doing the challenges for.
So for me I have the following endurance events this year:-
June 8th - Ben Nevis - UK's highest mountain - open to UK, 40 places max
July 6th - Yorkshire 3 Peak challenge host by Lost Earth Adventures on behalf of War on Cancer - open to UK, 40 places max
Sept - Mount Kilimanjaro - World's tallest free standing mountain at 19,340ft - my individual challenge
So if you don't already, make a change to your life and get out there exercising...you really can change your's and your body's future!
Until next time
