Charity car wash a success!

Hello everyone!

Hope you are having a great weekend :)

I am very happy to announce the Charity car wash was a success! We raised a total of £213.00, it was a cool day with a bit of nip in the wind, not that we felt it when we were busy washing cars lol!

I would like to thank Mike and The Sun Inn at Cottingley for not only letting us host the event in the pub car park, bit for also donating the water....and even bigger thanks for telling us we can do the car wash anytime :)

I want to thank War on Cancer's team of volunteers for giving up their Saturday to wash cars out in the cold!....So a big thank you to Jeannie, Dave (hero) ,Nicky, Sue (giggly) and Daz (dazzlin). War on Cancer will always be really grateful to you all helping out on events, your support is very much appreciated by myself :)

Of course I can't not thank our band of tiny tots who braved the cold to help out cleaning cars for a couple of hours - so a really massive thank you to Molly, Bella, Seb and Joshua ( Joshua - you really woke me up when you was spraying me and not the car with the water lol!!! ) - I don't know many little ones who would have washed cars with such enthusiasm for so long without complaining about been either cold, bored or both :) War on Cancer has it's own little band of followers :)

So because it was a success, we will be hosting this event again definitely--but wait until it warms up some more ( will be nice to get a tan while slogging it out washing cars me thinks!! )

Congratulations to Giggly Sue and Molly for the Bunfight - the final tally for money raised was a whopping £188.50!! a very successful coffee morning/afternoon tea!

A great fundraising month February has turned out to be :)

So as we move to the end of the month, I remind everyone that March is re-cycling month. So we are asking for old mobile phones to be donated - dig around in the back of the drawers, blow off the dust on that old mobile you kept "just in case" - you know the one that never does get used, but we all keep "just in case"!!

We can send them off for re-cycling and the money we receive from the re-cycling company will go into the fundraising pot. You don't have to live near-by for this, if you live far away, but still want to be involved, you can organise a collection yourselves, send to a re-cycling company and then donated the money into the pot by using the donate button on the blog - it is very safe, it is paypal and your money is secure.

March also see's us willing to re-cycle your unwanted gifts and items you think will be ok for car- boot sales, now the weather is picking up, we will be doing car boots.

I will be putting the details out about War on Cancer's Yorkshire 3 Peak sponsored Challenge now - I know the event isn't until June 2nd...but registration is only until the end of March, booking forms need to be sent out and be returned signed, sponsor forms to be got and training ongoing! It is a limited place event and although it is going to be hard, it will be so worth it, I hope to enjoy a Post Peak Pint with you all on our successful return!!

A great couple of weeks for War on Cancer, until next time.

Tracy
